A town review – Maidenhead’s metamorphosis
Feedback from the public
Meeting held 11th October, 2005
60 people attended the first meeting on 22nd September at Moor Hall:
Peter Sands outlined the Chamber's plans for the redevelopment of Maidenhead.
The follow on meeting was held at Moor Hall on October 11th where Peter
expanded on the Chamber's plans and Peter Prior of Summerleaze outlined
the proposals for York Stream.
Account was taken of the various suggestions and objections raised and
the campaign to revitalise Maidenhead continues.
- Why do you support the Chamber Initiative?
- To bring Maidenhead back to “The Jewel of the Thames” - JB
- Any comments or suggestions on the Chamber’s plans:
- Maidenhead needs more big shops - JB
- Do not agree with having Tesco Superstore in town. This will kill off all trade in town centre - DH
- I tend not to go into Maidenhead as often as I used to, to shop due to a lack of parking and the cost of parking – especially for 2 hours which one needs for a decent look around. I am not happy about a Tesco Superstore on the football pitch. A John Lewis Yes, better class - JG
- How soon can we start! - SI
