As
one of the most important sites in town a building of great architectural
merit is required. We propose lowering the height somewhat and extending
it back down Park Street with some parking below. This is one site we
suggest remains in commercial use. Our aim is to create a small semi-covered
square as a focus for the town, (with possibly a weekly market). The
‘covered’ area should be at least 2 storeys high to encourage
an open feeling and could be paved up to Market Street.
